23. Extra-Ordinary General Assembly was held in Istanbul on 08.11 with a high attendance. 42 members were present and 28 proxies were submitted by the members. By this means, the Constitution has been revised, which will be uploaded on our website soonest, for your information.

Besides the EOGA, the 4th EC meeting and the 1st Country Reprsentative Meetings were as well held in Istanbul, on 07 and 08.11.

22nd General Assembly and 3rd Executive Committee Meetings were held in Ashgabat on 30.05. in parallel with the IDB Annual Assembly. Besides these customary meetings, FCIC had organized the “Capacity Building of the Consulting Sector in the Countries of Central Asia” Seminar, on 01.06. for the members.

Consulting Engineering Center (CEC- Sajdi & Partners)
Has received the King Abdullah II Award for Excellence for the category of the firms that received the Award twice or more (Cycle 5 , 2008-2009).
CEC has received the Award first place 3 times in a row. The Award was presented by his Majesty King Abdullah II in a high profile ceremony on 4/5/2009.
The Award is given against strict compliance to five subjects:
1.      Leadership
2.      Strategic planning
3.      Process Management
4.      Resource Management
5.      Results
The system used for evaluation is the EFQM using RADAR criteria.

FCIC has organized the “Regional Workshop on the Consulting Sector in central Asia” in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, on 29-30 April, 2009. The workshop has been sponsored by the Islamic Development Bank (IDB) to formulate a capacity building program targeting the consulting sector in the Central Asian republics to improve their skills in project management, quality management and to increase their knowledge of working with international procurement procedures in order to prepare them for cooperation with the international donors in local and regional development projects. With the attendance of consultants from Azerbaijan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, and Uzbekistan, the workshop was a beneficial event for the region.

2nd Executive Committee Meeting was held on 16.02.2009 in Istanbul.

FCIC has attended the Senior Officials Meeting of the Twenty Fourth Session of the COMCEC, in Istanbul, on 20-24 October, 2008. FCIC was represented by the President, Izzat Sajdi,  and the Secretary General, Elif Yonat. The COMCEC has arranged for a visit to the  12th MUSIAD International Trade Fair.

The Standing Committee for Economic and Commercial Cooperation of the Organization of the Islamic Conference (COMCEC) was established at the Third Islamic Summit Conference held in Mecca/Taif in 1981. COMCEC became operational at the Fourth Islamic Summit in 1984, with the election of the President of the Republic of Turkey to its chairmanship.  

 The mandate of the COMCEC is to draw up programmes for joint action, coordinate and follow-up the activities pertaining to economic cooperation within the framework of the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC).
